
Richter Musikowski Architects was founded in 2012 by Christoph Richter and Jan Musikowski. The collaboration began when they discovered they shared a talent for translating complex requirements into exciting architectural narratives. The partnership draws on a wealth of practical and academic experience, as well as a curiosity for researching and developing new architectural and technical solutions. Richter Musikowski has its studio in Berlin Kreuzberg. The fruitful collaboration has resulted in numerous successful competition entries, prizes, and awards.


Jan Musikowski
Jan Musikowski was born in Magdeburg, studied architecture at the Bauhaus University in Weimar and at Virginia Tech in Washington DC (USA), and lives and works in Berlin. After graduating, he worked for Christine Edmaier (Berlin), Heinz Tesar (Vienna), HG Merz (Berlin), and AFF Architekten (Berlin) on the design and construction of public buildings.
At AFF Architekten, he was responsible for project management at Schloss Freudenstein in Freiberg and the Anna Seghers Community School in Berlin, among other projects. Jan Musikowski worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Residential Buildings at the Technical University of Dresden. In 2012, he founded the Richter Musikowski office together with Christoph Richter. In 2020, Jan Musikowski was appointed to the Convention of Building Culture. Jan Musikowski regularly works as a guest critic, speaker, and judge.
Christoph Richter
Christoph Richter was born in Dresden, studied architecture at Dresden University of Technology and UPV Valencia (Spain), and lives and works in Berlin and Halle (Saale). After graduating, he worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Residential Buildings at the Technical University of Dresden and as a freelancer on competitions and design projects. He was a finalist for the Walter Henn Award in 2010 and received a purchase at the Technical University of Dresden Architecture Award in 2010. He received the 3rd prize at the Rudolf Lodders Award of the City of Hamburg in 2010. Christoph
Richter is a winner of the Joseph Lenné Prize of the State of Berlin. In 2012, he founded the Richter Musikowski office together with Jan Musikowski.
Christoph Richter is a scholarship holder of the German Academy in Rome Casa Baldi 2023.
