The butterfly-shaped unfolding of the building structure into urban high points gives the Futurium its visual prominence between the Spree River and the elevated railway. Two squares are created at the main access points Alexanderufer and Kapelle-Ufer by setting back the building line.
A dot pattern covers the entire square, giving it its own unique character.

The façade consists of over 8,000 cassette elements. Each element measures 70 x 70 cm and consists of differently folded metal reflectors and ceramic-printed cast glass. These create an iridescent cloud pattern that constantly changes with the incidence of light.
